Port St. Lucie High students study animal evolutionary adaptations

Biology students from Port Saint Lucie High School recently visited the Brevard Zoo to expand their Florida history and evolution curriculum.  Students started the morning with a presentation on Florida’s fossil past and then spent the rest of the day exploring different evolutionary adaptations animals have that allows them to be successful in their environments.  Comparisons of different biomes and animals that occupy them were embedded in the day. For many students, this was their first trip to a zoo.
