St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) remains dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of students. Breakfast and lunch will be served to students (pre-K through age 18) on Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15 at the following school locations: Bayshore Elementary, C.A. Moore Elementary, Northport K–8, Samuel S. Gaines K-8 Academy, St. Lucie Elementary, Village Green Elementary, Weatherbee Elementary, and Windmill Point Elementary. Florida students enrolled in school, whether attending school in-person or virtually, are required to have age-appropriate vaccines with proper documentation on file at the school. Any students without the proper immunization documentation or exemption on file will not be able to start school on August 24th. LUCIE COUNTY – Participation and recognition at this year’s State Science and Engineering STEM Fair and Competition in Lakeland, Florida, proved to be laden with accolades for St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) students. This past week, the Department of Student Services collaborated with Feed the Children and Niagara Water to host a successful drive-thru food distribution event, serving 400 families in St. Lucie Public Schools. Families received non-perishable food items, personal hygiene supplies, a case of water, and a fun Squishmallow! Treasure Coast High School’s JROTC Cadets presented the colors, and Samuel S. LUCIE COUNTY – In a report of information compiled annually by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) once again moves closer to the head of the class in regard to top efficiency ratings for cost per capital outlay. In 2014-2015, the District was ranked 11 out of 67 school districts by reducing costs from $201.00 to $197.00. This compares to a ranking of 15 for the 2013-2014 academic year.
