Standards Institute Session 1: This training is designed to introduce the learner to the three shifts of instruction in mathematics. We will explore standards to see the connection between multiple grade level standards. The three levels of rigor will be used in the standards and tasks. St. Lucie Public Schools Child Nutrition Services team provides numerous programs for our children and our community. The District, designated as a Healthy Schools District, provides all students with the opportunity to receive a well-balanced breakfast and lunch during their regular school day, and as summer months approach, there are opportunities for students to partake in breakfast and lunch as well during these vacation months. St. Lucie Public Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program during the months of June and July. Nutritionally balanced meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, sex, disability, age or national origin during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. At open sites, all children, 18 years old and younger, are eligible for meals at no charge, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. St. Lucie Public Schools Provides Nutritionally Balanced Meals During Summer Months St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) is pleased to provide nutritionally balanced breakfast and lunch meals during the summer to children ages 18 and younger. Join students all across Florida as they take on the Summer Literacy Adventure Challenge and pledge to read every day. Set a personal goal, work to accomplish it and strive for success! Florida’s students are being challenged to pledge to read as many books as possible throughout the summer break. Each student can fill out his or her pledge at Summer Literacy Pledge. Following the summer break, the department will recognize the top 10 schools with the highest percentage of participation. The school whose students read the most books will receive a surprise visit from First Lady Ann Scott.

As one year begins to close, a bright new year begins to open and SLPS administrators initiate their professional development. District personnel gathered at Treasure Coast High School to learn, reflect, and re-energize. Multiple sessions were offered including data, instruction, safety and security.
