AIR-SEA-LAND Challenge

Don’t miss the AIR – SEA – LAND CHALLENGE robotics event at Treasure Coast High School’s campus on Saturday, April 7th. 10 AM – 3 PM Watch as Titan robotic challenges ensue through obstacle courses and against time. The event features a special middle school drone contest whereby the navigational prowess of young pilots will be tested through a complex obstacle course. Innovation and creativity are on display at this highly anticipated second annual AIR – SEA – LAND CHALLENGE.        

AICE Training Take-Over

Mrs. Friedberg of FPC and Mrs. Becht of LPA show off their AICE Marine Science practice renderings of sharks, part of the AICE training for teachers. AICE stands for Advanced International Certificate of Education, a rigorous series of courses from Cambridge University in England. Students taking and successfully passing seven AICE examinations in the core areas of Mathematics/Science, Languages, and Arts/Humanities are eligible to earn the Cambridge AICE diploma. Ahoy Parkway Pirates! Our Pirate Trading Post is Now Open!

Parkway Elementary students are getting real-life experience using our Class Dojo token economy system!  Students are “shopping” our Pirate Trading Post during their media resource class, where students spend their dojo points on a variety of prizes.  Students can earn Class Dojo points every day here at Parkway just for demonstrating PBIS school-wide behavior expectations.  

Ahoy Matey!

Today was Pirate Day at Rivers Edge! The Kindergarten students and teachers dressed up like pirates to make learning about maps and globes fully engaging. Activities included pirate stories, lessons about map keys and the compass rose, writing about pirates and of course a treasure hunt-using those newly acquired map skills! It was aaarrrggggghhh great day full of fun and learning-no one had to walk the plank!

Agreement Reached With St. Lucie Public Schools and Unions

St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) reached a positive agreement today with its Classroom Teachers Association (CTA) and Classified Unit (CU) partners. Superintendent E. Wayne Gent stated, “We value the committed educational professionals who dedicate themselves to teaching our students and accelerating their learning. Agreement Reached to Distribute Referendum Funds Earmarked for Teacher Salaries

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL – The District and the CTA/CU Negotiations Teams met to begin salary negotiations and have reached a tentative agreement for the utilization of referendum funds earmarked for teacher salaries.  In this tentative agreement, the Board and St. Lucie CTA/CU agree to a four-year provision for all eligible teachers (including new hires) to receive a Referendum Recruitment and Retention Annual Supplement in the following amounts beginning with the 2019-2020 school year:   Beginning teachers = $1,000  1- 5 years eligible experience = $2,000  6-9 years eligible experience = $5,000  10 years + eligible experience = $7,800 This supplement … Read More
