Camp Orlando is an elite 4-day journalism workshop geared toward Yearbook and Newspaper programs in high schools. The program offers multiple, interest-based tracks for students and advisors. Ms. Emily Royo attended the Experienced Advisor Academy and collaborated with other advisors in the area. Advisors shared best academic practices along with suggestions for classroom conditions and structure in order to maximize work efficiency while balancing strict deadline management with compassion. The cafeteria became the celebration site for recognizing the outstanding achievements of 400 Cobras making learning gains from last year’s FAST PM3 to this year’s FAST PM1. FPC’s Yearbook staff brainstormed ways to create importance and excitement around yearbook distribution. The staff decided to host a new event transforming a nostalgic tradition: yearbook signing.    Seniors got the first look at the 2024 Yearbook at this senior exclusive event to kick off yearbook distribution. FPC Puts the Fun into Senior Field Day! Field Days are not just for the end of the year, wind-down in elementary schools. Senior Field Day is a Fort Pierce Central High School Tradition. From outside games of kickball, soccer, flag football, photo ops, side-walk chalking and more, to indoor card games and board games, FPC makes time with friends the memorable senior-year moments that last a lifetime.   Fort Pierce Central has a unique program to offer support to co-workers.  The program is called Cobra Secret Friends. Co-workers are matched by drawing names with the Program Coordinator Sandra Rohn.  The secret is that only the coordinator knows who the secret friends are.  Once matched, group emails are exchanged so they can publicly thank their Secret Friends for little gifts, notes of encouragement, and snacks given once a week or so.  The big Secret Friend reveal will be held at the end of the year. On April 17, Fort Pierce Central’s Cobra Pals demonstrated the true meaning of inclusion and kindness by hosting a heartwarming event for senior students in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program.
