LPA Fall Spooktacular Orchestra Concert

The Lincoln Park Academy Advanced Middle School and High School Orchestras presented a Fall Spooktacular in the Lincoln Park Academy Performing Arts Auditorium, October 25. The orchestras performed spooky pieces in addition to featuring several soloists. These soloists included Sofia Arias, vocal solo; Giselle Cisneros-Arana (Florida Orchestra Association All State Violin 2021-2022) on violin, Daniel Dawkins on piano, and Janaya Stephens on guitar. LPA Does Shakespeare

Lincoln Park Academy took Shakespeare to a whole other level in presenting Twelfth Night, 80s style. Twelfth Night is a Shakespearean classic that follows Viola on her journey as she disguises herself to fit in a new town. Her twin brother shows up and chaos ensues. LPA Cybersecurity Students get a Peak at IRSC Technology Programs

Mr. Mathison’s Cybersecurity classes had a wonderful trip today on our tour of IRSC. The students had fun exploring the robotics lab, and the programming that goes behind the robots. Then we checked out their IT lab and played the “Backdoors & Breaches” card game which simulates scenarios of IT pros vs hackers. Finally, we toured their manufacturing building to see the workshops, nanotech, and business labs. Students enjoyed the hands-on experiences during the field trip, which was paid for with the Cyber/IT Pathways Grant from the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.    

LPA Creative Writers Win Honors in IRSC Contest

Congratulations to our Lincoln Park Academy students who placed in the annual Indian River State College Creative Writing Contest! Molly Thomas won 2nd place in the 10th grade category for her short story, “Bermuda Love Triangle.” Justin Heath won 3rd place in the 11th grade category for his short story, “Leviathan.” Lindsey Allgire won 2nd place for in the 11th grade category for her untitled story. LPA Creative Writers Achieve Top Honors

Students in Ms. Merritt’s Creative Writing Class at Lincoln Park Academy earned several awards in the Indian River State College Annual Creative Writing Contest. Students submitted one original work of writing in the poetry, drama, or short story category. The students’ work was judged by IRSC faculty members, and the awards were received on March 29th at the 2018 Creative Writing Contest Award Ceremony held at IRSC. LPA Creative Writer Wins at IRSC

Isabelle McConville represented Lincoln Park Academy in IRSC’s annual Creative Writing Contest. She won 1st place in the 10th grade category with her short story titled “When We Fall.” The award was presented at IRSC’s main campus during a reception for writers on March 30th. LPA Choruses “Superior” at the Florida Vocal Association South State Music Performance Assessments!

Congratulations LPA Chorus!  This past Monday, the LPA Choral Department participated in the Florida Vocal Association State Choral Music Performance Assessments which was held at American Heritage School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This was the third and final segment of the Florida Vocal Association’s Music Performance Assessments. Both the Women’s Chorale and Belle Voix received Straight Superior Ratings for their stunning performances. On April 25th, the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus participated in the Florida Vocal Association’s South State Choral Music Performance Assessments in North Palm Beach. The Women’s Chorale and the Women’s Advanced Choir, “Belle Voix” both received “SUPERIOR” ratings for their outstanding performances.  These performances concluded the FVA concert season and once again, the LPA Choral Department had a perfect “Superior” rated season with all of their performing ensembles. LPA Chorus Sweeps Worldstrides Orlando National Choral Festival

In March, the Lincoln Park Academy Choral Department participated in the Worldstrides OnStage Orlando National Choral Festival. Choirs participating in this festival were from Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, and Maryland. Although Lincoln Park was one of the smallest choral programs in attendance, they were very competitive and came away from the festival with an unprecedented nine awards including the coveted “Sweepstakes” award which was awarded to the most outstanding choral program. LPA Chorus Selected for 2023 Disney Candlelight Processional

Lincoln Park Academy Chorus has been chosen to participate in the 2023 Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program at the Walt Disney World® Resort!  This is the 17th consecutive year that they have been selected. LPA Chorus Performs at TD Band Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On September 6, 2025, the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus, Encore, had the distinct honor of performing at the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for the new TD Bank in Fort Pierce. This community-centered event marked the introduction of a financial institution committed to serving and uplifting our local neighborhoods. The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Regional Manager overseeing all TD Bank branches in Southeastern Florida—a proud alumnus of Lincoln Park Academy. LPA Chorus Invited to Perform in Paris, France!

The Lincoln Park Academy Chorus Department has been invited to perform in Paris, France in June 2025! The chorus was selected for this ten-day residency from June 6 to June 15, by guest conductor, Dr. Stacie Rossow who will conduct composer Michael McGlynn’s THE WIND AMONG THE REEDS with the Orchestre Symphonique Bel’Arte De Paris and distinguished soloists. LPA Chorale Performs at Disney Candlelight Processional for the 10th Consecutive Year

On Friday, December 9th, the Lincoln Park Academy Concert Chorale participated in Disney’s Candlelight Processional which was held at Epcot Center. The Candlelight Processional tells the story of Christmas in words and music including a mass choir joined by a 50-piece live orchestra and a guest celebrity narrator. The guest celebrity narrator for this evening was Anthony Mackie who played the Marvel Superhero Falcon in the movie Captain America: Civil War. This is the Lincoln Park Academy Concert Chorale’s 10th consecutive year being selected to participate in this very prestigious event.      

LPA Ceramics Students Participate in Empty Bowls

Mr. McGarry’s Ceramics students from Lincoln Park Academy joined forces with Centennial and Central High students to fight hunger in our community. They created over 30 ceramic pieces to add to the more than 200 items that sold in the fundraiser hosted by the Treasure Coast Food Bank. The event was a huge success with over $13,000 dollars raised, thanks to the combined efforts of our district art students, local businesses, and private donations.  

LPA Centennial Oral History Project – Ms. Delores Johnson – Class of 1968

Ms. Delores Johnson is an esteemed alumna of Lincoln Park Academy who dedicated her career to public service and community and was interviewed as part of the oral histories for LPA’s centennial year. Ms. Johnson not only returned to LPA as a dean and then counselor, but also championed education reform as a state representative. LPA Centennial Oral History Project – Mrs. Linda Ivey – Class of 1970

This is the third in a collection of oral history interviews conducted by Lincoln Park Academy students to gather and preserve the memories of alumni of the school in its centennial year. Mrs. Linda Ivey is a 1970 graduate and a retired employee of Lincoln Park Academy whose history in Fort Pierce, Florida dates back to the first black cowboys in the area. LPA Centennial Oral History Project ~ Francina Mimms

LPA is celebrating its Centennial Year through the oral histories of its alumni. Sophomore Lily Zheng interviewed alumni, the first being Francenia Mimms, who graduated from LPA in 1959. Ms. Mimms shared her experience attending LPA and growing up in Fort Pierce. The interview can be found on LPA’s YouTube channel. LPA Centennial Career Expo

The Lincoln Park Academy Centennial Career Expo was a huge success!  Former graduates were featured and also shared their expertise with our Juniors and Seniors. Students were able to chat with our LPA Alumni about the educational requirements for their career, the pros and cons that come along with their job, their benefits, and also what they love most about their career.  Ms. Lindo and Jonathan Castor were picked for prizes. It was a great day for all who participated!
