The Make a Teacher a Classroom Hero program sponsored by “Little Debbie” was held during the month of August 2012. The area distributor who had the top sales total for the month would choose their favorite K-12 teacher to be a Classroom Hero and award that teacher with a $300.00 Visa gift card to use for their classroom supplies. Palm Pointe Talent Show a HIT!

Palm Pointe students had a talent show last week. We were so impressed with the variety of acts. Students, sang, acted, shared their comedic talents and much more.  Everyone did an amazing job! Our students are stars!

Palm Pointe symphonic band takes memorable field trip

The Palm Pointe symphonic band recently travelled to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in a private clinic at Georgia State University held by the university’s band director. While they were there they were able to tour the CNN television studios and view a live taping. Some of their other activities included visiting the Coca Cola corporation museum as well as visiting the world’s largest aquarium. Students gained memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. Palm Pointe Summer Reading Carnival

Palm Pointe Educational Research School held a reward Carnival for students who participated in the Summer Reading Program.  In order for students to attend, they had to read a minimum of two chapter books, one of them being a Sunshine State Reader book.  Additionally, students had to create thinking maps that demonstrated they comprehended what they read.  At the carnival, students participated in activities including ski ball, bowling, basketball, dancing, and a variety of other carnival games.  Students also enjoyed snacks and prizes as they participated in the activities.  The carnival was filled with smiles, as students celebrated their reading … Read More

Palm Pointe Summer Reading Carnival

Over 600 Rockets in grades 1-8 took part in a “Reading is Fun!” Carnival on August 31st.  During the carnival students played games, danced, and enjoyed a tasty treat.  Students qualified for the carnival by completing the Summer Reading Challenge.  Many thanks to all of our volunteers, teachers, and staff members for making the event a success.  Fun was had by all!

Palm Pointe students wrap up algebraic functions unit

Palm Pointe students win oratorical contests

Eighth grade students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition pose for a photo during Kindness Week after placing first and second place in the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest in their division.  Manisha Hussman, left, won first place and Jonathan Auguste won second place.  They wrote their speeches about “Universal Brotherhood” and presented them recently at Ft. Palm Pointe Students Win Cheribundi Art Award

Palm Pointe Artists win the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest. Congratulations to Elementary School Division First Place Winner: Naima Guerrier – grade 5, and Middle School Division First Place Winner: Miyanna Morgan – grade 8. Students from St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County were asked to complete an artwork using “football and health” as the theme. The first place winners will be honored and recognized at the Head Coach’s Press Conference and on-field during the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl on December 21, 2019. Palm Pointe Students Visit with the Mayor

Mayor Greg Oravec visited Palm Pointe 3rd graders to discuss how the mayor’s role is important for our local government. The students really enjoyed asking lots of questions and interacting with Mayor Oravec.

Palm Pointe students use iconic item to study chemical change to matter

Eighth grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition looked at different changes in matter both physical and chemical to observe and classify different changes in matter. Students produced their own lava lamp or graduated cylinder to view the physical changes of a mixture and the chemical changes present in a chemical reaction. After working to demonstrate their understanding with the lava lamp, students went further when they looked to identify specific signs of a chemical change while creating a “Sunset in a Bag.” Students were able to view first hand both a physical and chemical change in color along … Read More

Palm Pointe students head to state history fair

 Thirty three students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently competed in the St. Lucie County History Fair after completing research projects using the National History Day theme, “Revolution, Reaction, & Reform in History”.  Students competed in the five categories, including exhibit, research paper, performance, documentary, and website. Of those 33 students,  the 17 students pictured placed either first or third at the district competition.  First place winners will attend the Florida State History Fair from April 29th-May 1st in Tallahassee, FL. where they will compete with students from around the state with hopes of attending the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C.  First … Read More

Palm Pointe students tackle legal topic for civics project

Students in Hillary Cruz’s seventh grade Civics classes at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition have selected the problem of puppy mills and current breeder legislation to focus on for this years’ Project Citizen project. To assist in comparing how state and federal agencies enforce animal welfare legislation, students contacted Dr. Gaj with the United States Department of Agriculture, who visited the classroom with a PowerPoint presentation on the subject, as well as answered students’ questions.  Pictured are Luke Bentley, left, and Zachary Barsuglia with animals they received after answering questions for Dr Gaj during the presentation.

Palm Pointe students succeed in their own lemonade stand

Get your ice cold lemonade, for only 75 cents at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition! The first nine weeks of school, students in Kaitlyn Olesik’s autistic middle school class worked very hard on identifying coins and their values. They put all of their prior and new knowledge to the test by opening up their very own class lemonade stand! The students were given the opportunity to make homemade lemonade. They used skills such as following directions, measuring ingredients, taking turns and squeezing fresh lemons! Students came to school all decked out in orange to take a stand against bullying.  They wanted to send a clear message that they don’t support bullying and that they won’t be a bystander.  Way to go, students!  Together, let’s stomp out bullying for good.  

Palm Pointe Students Showcase Project Citizen at State Finals

Alexia Morgan and Hannah Raymond from Palm Pointe K8 School had the opportunity to share their project at the Project Citizen State Finals recently. Their project, “Water” We Waiting For? researched drowning deaths of younger children and found that Florida leads the nation in drowning deaths of children ages 1-4 years old. The class set out to research and propose public policy to save lives and reduce these statistics.  The civics class submitted a digital entry this year due to the remote instruction and competition requirements. Thank you to civics teacher Jennifer Wright for leading students through this worthwhile project!

Palm Pointe students shop at the Rocket Reader store

 First and second grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoy shopping for books in the library in the Rocket Reader Store.  Students can use 20 rocket fuel dollars to purchase books in the store.  This is for all students in grades K-8 and is open different days for different age groups.  Pictured, from left, are Amia Stone, Isabella Aviles, Colby Kuba, Braylen Lopez , Logan Kerr, and De’shawn King.  Great job rockets…keep up the good work!

Palm Pointe Students Shine at 8th Grade Career Experience

A cohort of Palm Pointe 8th-grade students proudly participated in St. Lucie County Public Schools’ 8th Grade Experience, an immersive career exploration event co-sponsored by St. Lucie Public Schools and the Treasure Coast Center for Economic & Educational Development (TCCEED). This initiative is designed to introduce middle school students to high-demand industries and inspire future career pathways. Students explored careers aligned with their Xello career interest surveys, engaged with interactive stations, and demonstrated exemplary effort and genuine curiosity throughout the day. Students from Lorri Rudzinski’s second grade class Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition shared their POINT OF VIEW with Superintendent Michael Lannon during a recent visit to the school. Students responded to the school district’s request for public input about what characteristics they thought the new superintendent should possess, as Mr. Lannon retires at the end of June. Palm Pointe students present Thanksgiving performance

Second grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition put on their annual Thanksgiving performance after learning about Native Americans, Pilgrims, and fhe first Thanksgiving!
