SLW Centennial HOSA Hosts Blood Drive and Collects 75 Pints of Blood

On Tuesday, October 3, SLW Centennial HOSA hosted a blood drive. The blood drive was a huge success! They were able to collect 75 pints with 11 of them being platelets! Overall, it was a great turnout, especially for the first one in years.  The blood donations will help to save so many lives!!!  Way to go EAGLES!

SLW Centennial Honors Retiring Staff Members

SLW Centennial recently held a celebration to honor teachers and staff members retiring at the end of the school year. The event was a chance for the school community to express gratitude for the years of dedication and service these individuals have given. Principal Popwell led the ceremony, presenting each retiree with a special plaque that highlighted their years of service at Centennial. The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC Navy Eagles “Black Talon” Company held its Annual Military Ball on Friday, April 14th, 2023.  The “Black Talon” Unit held the event at the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa located in Jensen Beach. The event started at 5 PM with a “Social Hour” so cadets, parents, and school officials could mingle and socialize. The SLW Centennial High School NAVY JROTC participated in the homecoming festivities during the varsity football game versus Jensen Beach High School on Friday, September 24th, 2021. Not only did the NJROTC Unit provide a stunning backdrop for the SLW Centennial Homecoming festivities, but they also provided a Color Guard for the Varsity Football Game, a Parking Detail to park all the visitors in the most efficient manner, and also manned and sold items in the Concession Stands on both the Home and Visitors side. SLW Centennial High School’s 2nd Annual Student Recovery Day

On January 6th, SLW Centennial High School held its second annual Student Recovery Day. This is a heartfelt initiative aimed at reconnecting with students who had chronic absences and low GPAs during the first semester. Teachers, counselors, and staff members split into teams to visit approximately 65 families, reaching out to students who had been struggling with attendance and academic performance. The primary goal of these visits is to let students and their families know that they are missed and valued members of the school community. SLW Centennial High School Nursing Assistant Students Collaborate with IRSC

SLW Centennial High School Nursing Assistant Students participated in the Indian River State College’s Health Science and Nursing Program tours and simulation day.  Students worked with the IRSC nursing students and faculty to get hands-on demonstrations and simulated learning.  Students rotated through various presentations to include skill lab training and learning, admission process, opportunities after high school graduation, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, and more.

    The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC “Black Talon” Company participated in the 2023 Martin Luther King Parade on Monday, January 16th 2023,  in Fort Pierce, Florida.  The Black Talon Unit lead the High School portion of the parade.
