Celebrate Music in Our Schools with area bands and choral ensembles as they fill the Fenn Center with the sound of music on April 7 at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free concert sponsored by St. Lucie Public Schools.
With over 500 students from across the District performing, audiences will enjoy a wide range of musical selections as students showcase their talents for their community. The concert, hosted by Jane Whitaker, will be presented in round robin style. The theme for this year’s celebration is Music Inspires! According to Whitaker, “Music is a creative process that serves to inspire and motivate both the performer and the listener.”
Music in Ours Schools Month was founded in 1973 by the National Association for Music Education. Its goal is to stress the importance and benefits of a high quality comprehensive, sequential music education program in our schools taught by exemplary music educators.
