MSE 2nd Graders Discover Nature’s Importance at Oxbow

Recently, 2nd graders from Morningside Elementary visited the OXBOW Environmental Center, where they engaged in vital lessons about protecting our natural resources. They learned the importance of cleaning up waste, recycling, and using only what they need—essential practices for sustainability. While exploring the beautiful trails, students enjoyed a mini history lesson about St. Lucie County and Florida. This enriching experience emphasized how understanding our local history is crucial in recognizing the importance of safeguarding our environment. By connecting past and present, the students gained valuable insights into their role in protecting nature and resources, fostering a sense of responsibility and stewardship for their community. The trip inspired them to be proactive in caring for the planet.
