On Saturday, October 11, twelve students from Fort Pierce Central’s CNA and Health Science Foundations classes participated in Inside the Operating Room: Robotic Discovery Day at HCA Lawnwood Hospital. This unique experience immersed students in the cutting-edge world of surgical robotics, bridging classroom learning with real-world applications.

Throughout the day, students engaged in hands-on activities with state-of-the-art robotic systems, including the opportunity to test-drive surgical robots under the guidance of medical professionals. They also had meaningful conversations with experienced surgeons and healthcare staff, gaining valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities within the surgical team, the importance of precision and collaboration in the operating room, and the evolving landscape of patient care.
This event was more than a field trip. It was a day of discovery, learning, and inspiration that brought classroom concepts to life and sparked interest in future healthcare careers.
