Fairlawn Elementary students in Shirley Helton’s Fifth Grade class are corresponding with troops in Afghanistan. Students are sending care packages and hand-written notes to the soldiers. They also e-mail and skype with the troops giving them words of encouragement and asking many questions about life in Afghanistan.
