DMMS Hispanic Heritage Night

**Hispanic Heritage Night Shines at Dan McCarty Middle School**

On Monday, October 7, Dan McCarty Middle School came alive with a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture during our annual Hispanic Heritage Night. The event was a true reflection of our school’s diverse community, bringing together students, parents, and staff for an unforgettable evening filled with music, food, and cultural pride.

Parents beamed with pride as they watched their children perform songs in Spanish, take swings at colorful piƱatas, and participate in a Parade of Flags, which honored the rich heritage of Hispanic and Latin American countries. The night showcased the unity and joy that comes from celebrating our differences and recognizing the value of each culture.

In addition to the evening festivities, the Hispanic Heritage Committee at Dan McCarty worked tirelessly to create a full week of engaging activities for our students. Highlights included a door-decorating contest, a Spirit Week filled with school pride, and educational opportunities to learn about the achievements of notable Hispanic Americans. These events helped foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Hispanic heritage throughout the school.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Lucie Public Schools, our migrant liaisons Mrs. Linda Tapia and Mrs. Sylvia Jambu, and our dedicated guidance department, which was on-site to help sign families up for our free food bank, providing critical support to our community.

Hispanic Heritage Night was not only a time to celebrate but also a reminder of the importance of embracing the diversity that makes Dan McCarty special. We are committed to continuing these efforts throughout the school year, striving to be 1% better every day. What a night to remember!
