Coach Quigley is the proud coach of FPC’s Cobra Volleyball. Supporting our Cobras for both indoor and beach programs at Central spurs year-long fundraising efforts. These fundraisers make a difference for Cobra families when supporting all things volleyball. On top of yearly online donation fundraisers, the team recently hosted a fundraiser at Blaze Pizza in Tradition. This year the team has been able to get out into the community with more engagement opportunities.
With 34 ladies in the indoor program, 6 coaches, and a manager, the team travels to play in tournaments all over Florida. Through fundraisers, uniforms and equipment are purchased. Varsity indoor volleyball travels to 3 away tournaments every year. With the money from the fundraisers, ladies gain a life-impacting glimpse of the college experience with fundraisers covering travel, food, and lodging for every girl on varsity. While some players go on to play volleyball in college and some don’t, Coach Quigley is happy to give all the players the treatment and experience they deserve.
The 18 member Cobra beach program is lucky enough to have beach courts on campus that were donated by some wonderful community supporters. Fundraising allowed the team to purchase the 3 net systems needed. The team also has timeout stations, a refreshed shed for equipment storage, a speaker system, and a beautiful Central Beach Volleyball tent to keep us shaded during the springtime. Through supportive efforts, all teams, including coaches and a manager, receive practice and game day shirts.
A huge congratulations to Renee Direny, a senior Cobra volleyball player, for being named ESPN Palm Beach Player of the Week! Recognized by Land Rover, Renee’s exceptional dedication and skills have been instrumental in driving our team’s success on both offense and defense. Her determination has played a key role in our impressive 3-1 start to the season. Let’s show our support and congratulate Renee on this well-deserved achievement!
