St. Lucie County won the Florida Academic Challenge! This is the first time since 2004 that team St. Lucie has won! Team St. Lucie was led by Coach Stephen Maxwell (Treasure Coast High School) and Assistant Coach Peter Miserocchi (Fort Pierce Central High School).  Team St. Lucie consisted of four members from Treasure Coast High School (Corey Pope, Aidan Ortado, Gabriel Gobi, and Sebastian Rebelo) and Fort Pierce Central student (Jayden McGregor) to make the winning team. On Saturday, April 12th, VPK teachers, Daniela Castro (Windmill Point) and Victoria Frazier (Northport K-8), engaged families in a Math and Movement graphing activity at the Family Fun Fair. Nursing Assistant Students Experience Simulated Hospital

Students from St. Lucie West Centennial High School (Mrs. Ciufo and Mrs. DeJesus’ classes) and Fort Pierce Westwood Academy (Mr. Burchell’s classes) recently attended a special event at Indian River State College’s School of Nursing. Fifty students, who have either earned or are working towards their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) industry certification, were invited to participate in a simulated learning day alongside college nursing program professors. The Office of Teaching and Learning’s Secondary Programs took another amazing group of students from the class of 2026 to tour Florida Atlantic University on March 27th.
