Math and Movement with VPK at the 2025 Family Fun Fair

On Saturday, April 12th, VPK teachers, Daniela Castro (Windmill Point) and Victoria Frazier (Northport K-8), engaged families in a Math and Movement graphing activity at the Family Fun Fair. This year’s theme was We’ll be Movin’ & Groovin’. At St. Lucie Public School’s Early Childhood booth, each child received a graphing game board, foam die, and dry erase marker to continue moving, grooving, and learning at home. Assistant Chief Nursing Officer Lex Lalicon from HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital recently visited the Nursing Assistant program students at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy: The W.E.S.T. Nursing Assistant Students Experience Simulated Hospital

Students from St. Lucie West Centennial High School (Mrs. Ciufo and Mrs. DeJesus’ classes) and Fort Pierce Westwood Academy (Mr. Burchell’s classes) recently attended a special event at Indian River State College’s School of Nursing. Fifty students, who have either earned or are working towards their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) industry certification, were invited to participate in a simulated learning day alongside college nursing program professors. The Office of Teaching and Learning’s Secondary Programs took another amazing group of students from the class of 2026 to tour Florida Atlantic University on March 27th. The group of juniors represented all 6 of our comprehensive high schools.  It was the first time for many of these students to be on a university campus. Students from Mrs. Applebee’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program at Fort Pierce Central High School recently participated in a training day with the St. Lucie County Fire Department. This invaluable experience provided students with the opportunity to complete a variety of educational and simulated training.
