The 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. This sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 2, 2019, and runs through Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The Division of Student Services and Exceptional Student Education in collaboration with Sandy Hook Promise provided a Signs of Suicide (SOS) Training at Indian River State College for school psychologists, social workers, guidance counselors, and district leaders. The SOS program uses an educational curriculum to teach students to recognize the symptoms of depression and suicide, and can be implemented by existing school personnel within one class period.
