Mrs. Proctor’s 6th grade Science class is working on a unit about force. To reach the learning goal, students will understand the difference between contact forces and forces acting at a distance and be able to describe how an unbalanced force affects an object. Students set out to build catapults! Students were able to build catapults out of any material on the table, test their inventions with catapulting a cotton ball, recording the distance the ball traveled, and answer questions about force and motion. Students were able to see how force and motion worked together to launch their cotton ball with the catapult.
