Mrs. Proctor’s 6th-grade math class is working on ratio concepts and being able to use ratio reasoning to solve problems. The students had the opportunity to “go shopping” in the classroom and see if it was cheaper to buy in bulk or a single item by itself. Students had to use what they learned about unit rate to see what each item in the bulk pack would cost and compare it to if it was cheaper to buy the item in bulk or the single items by themselves.
