Recently, Mrs. Jennifer Richardson, SLPS board member, spent a day with the Food Service team at Centennial High School. Her visit provided a firsthand look at the dedication and creativity of our staff, who work tirelessly to provide nutritious meals to our students.
Mrs. Richardson was impressed by the team’s ability to innovate and create a positive atmosphere, enhancing student satisfaction. Her experience also brought back memories of her time working in an elementary school cafeteria, highlighting the significant advancements in school food service over the years.
She emphasized the essential role our Food Service personnel play in supporting our educational mission, especially in Title One schools where many students rely on free and reduced lunch programs. Mrs. Richardson believes that district-level administrators and executives would benefit greatly from similar hands-on experiences, gaining valuable insights that could lead to meaningful improvements across the district.
Her visit serves as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and respecting the hard work of our frontline staff, whose efforts are crucial to the success of our students.
