Baptiste-Harris Makes A Positive Difference

The School Board of St. Lucie County and Superintendent E. Wayne Gent were proud to recognize Jacqueline Baptiste-Harris, a first grade teacher at Village Green Environmental Studies School for her achievement as the recipient of the Council for Economic Education’s John Morton Excellence in Teaching of Economics Award during October’s School Board meeting.  This honor is bestowed upon those who exemplify the importance of economic and financial education critical to students’ future success.

As a recipient of this prestigious award, Mrs. Baptiste-Harris has just attended the 56th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference and Awards event in New York where she had the opportunity to present best practices from her classroom to colleagues and participate in a Teachers’ Roundtable session.  She is a wonderful ambassador for SLPS.
