Students enjoy Twin Day at Palm Pointe for a great cause

Students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoyed “Twin Day” to help raise money for Relay for Life.  The students paid a dollar to dress up as a twin with a friend.  Pictured here are a group of third graders who participated and helped raise money for a worthy cause.

Humane Society visits Palm Pointe

Janet Winikoff from the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County speaks to seventh grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition about sick and neglected animals and about the Humane Society.  She did a PowerPoint presentation and answerd questions that students had about pets being neglected because of hard economical times and possible solutions to help.

Project Citizen entries judged at Palm Pointe

Judges listen to Palm Pointe Educational Research seventh grade students as they present their Project Citizen reports.  Project Citizen is a student led class project in which students select a problem in the community and create a public policy addressing it.  Students select the problem as a class, research it, come up with two or three solutions, select the solution that best solves the public policy issue and develop an action plan to make their idea become a reality.  The top three projects selected by the judges to move on to the district Project Citizen showcase are: “No Homework, No … Read More

Palm Pointe students win oratorical contests

Eighth grade students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition pose for a photo during Kindness Week after placing first and second place in the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest in their division.  Manisha Hussman, left, won first place and Jonathan Auguste won second place.  They wrote their speeches about “Universal Brotherhood” and presented them recently at Ft. Pierce Central with other schools from the district. Awesome job Rockets!

Palm Pointe celebrates Kindness Week

Students and staff at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition participated in a school-wide event during Kindness Week as part of the Martin Luther King, Jr., celebration activities.  Everyone wore stickers to promote kindness and were given red ribbons to pass forward to someone showing an act of kindness.  It was a great week with these acts and the school has pledged to continue this all through the school year.  Great job Rockets! Spelling Bee held at Palm Pointe for fourth and fifth graders

Palm Pointe guests join the morning news show

Kailey Alford and Jasmine Choung, first grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition were guest weathermen (women) on the Morning Show which airs each morning at the school.  The girls earned the privilege by turning in their earned rocket fuel which is a positive behavior support (PBS) program used at the school.  Keep up the great work girls!  

Palm Pointe first graders learn about friendship

Palm Pointe students enjoy a day at the theater

Emma Allen, Aishwariya Kalluri, Madison Baker and Ani Ramsingh in Laurie Boyer and Melissa Efron’s third grade classes at Palm Pointe Educational Research @ Tradition enjoyed a day at the theater.  They went to the Sunrise Theater to see the Nutcracker Ballet and all the students were excited about the show

Santa arrives by fire truck at Palm Pointe

Santa arrives at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition by fire truck for the annual “Breakfast with Santa” event. Students are there to greet him when he arrives and to show him where to go for the breakfast, crafts and pictures.  This is a wonderful event for the families each year and this year was no exception.  The food was delicious, the crafts were fun, the face painting was awesome and the pictures with Santa were great!

Holiday songs enjoyed by first graders at Palm Pointe

Bill Lloyd, ESE teacher at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition sings holiday songs with the first grade students.  He played his guitar and sang many popular holiday tunes with the kids.  The students and teachers all had a joyous time.

Hobe Sound Nature Center staff visit Palm Pointe

Staff from the Hobe Sound Nature Center recently visited the fifth grade students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition and did a presentation on animal adaptations and food webs.  They demonstrated with their Birds of Prey animal collection.  The students got to dissect owl pellets.  The discussion showed the different things that were eaten by the owls.  Pictured, from left, are  Andi Risi and Hector Arocho.

Palm Pointe students shop at the Rocket Reader store

 First and second grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoy shopping for books in the library in the Rocket Reader Store.  Students can use 20 rocket fuel dollars to purchase books in the store.  This is for all students in grades K-8 and is open different days for different age groups.  Pictured, from left, are Amia Stone, Isabella Aviles, Colby Kuba, Braylen Lopez , Logan Kerr, and De’shawn King.  Great job rockets…keep up the good work!

Palm Pointe kindergartners play the drums at a recent pow wow

Kindergarten students from Palm Pointe Educational Research @ Tradition play on the drums that they made at a recent pow wow.  Students all dressed as Indians and did several activities outside along with playing the drums. This was an awesome learning experience and that students had a great time performing for their families and friends.

Palm Pointe kindergartners and families enjoy Thanksgiving feast

Kindergarten students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast prepared with all the fixings by the cafeteria staff.  The food was delicious and the students and guests had a great time.  Pictured, from left, are kindergartner Maya Wright, her Mom and her younger student as they enjoy their feast!

Palm Pointe hosts a clarinet clinic

Recently at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition a clinic was hosted for clarinet players in the four county area.  The evening was sponsored by Music Man Instrument Company and included master classes as well as give aways.  Students were able to gain experience by listening to two clinicians as well as picking up technique hints that were offered.  Way to go Rockets!
