The students in Mr. Bevacqua’s fifth grade class at Morningside Elementary School engage in a lesson on measurement. Mr. B, as the students call him, shows off his cooking skills and provides the students with safety tips as he makes one of his favorite dishes, Pico de Gallo. Way to go Mr. Bevacqua for being creative and sharing your talents virtually with the students in the class!

Fifth Grade students at Morningside Elementary learned lessons in motion and energy. They designed, built and launched rockets along with their teachers and former Morningside teacher, Tom Filipkowski. The students enjoyed their experience and gained a deeper understanding of science standards.

Morningside Elementary school students and teachers honored Veteran families by holding an assembly. Students from all grades greeted the Veteran guests as they entered the school building and the students in the Gifted Program created skits, read poems and sang songs to honor the individuals who have served or are currently serving in the Armed forces. Veteran guests appreciated the recognition and enjoyed the assembly.

Morningside staff and students enjoyed a morning of bowling to support the Big Brother Big Sister Event held at Superplay USA on Saturday, September 21st.
