Do you know the difference between the inner and outer planets? If not, ask one of the fifth grade students in Cindy Young’s class at FK Sweet Elementary. The students used a Double Bubble Map to compare and contrast the planets. Cindy Frio and Dan Darrisaw are doing a last minute review from their maps.
F.K. Sweet technology teacher Michelle Adrian is busy helping third grade students Jakissia Wheeler and Kamryn Gardner create a holiday wish list while using Desk Top Publishing. Students use this program throughout the year for publishing stories and writing letters. Students this year are also enjoying using Quizlet.com for multiplication practice.
Second graders Junior Edmond, Miles Biglin, and Alessandra Martinez in Julia Melville’s second grade class at F.K. Sweet Elementary are using base ten blocks while learning to subtract with regrouping. Go Math emphasizes the daily use of manipulatives to help students use a hands on approach for mastery of math skills.
Jonathan Colon and Bakari Mosley, fourth grade students in Kim Yoder’s class at F.K. Sweet Elementary, are working together on solving long division problems with remainders. What’s with the socks? It is an easy and fast way to wipe the white boards after checking over their work.
