Manatee Academy’s Grandparents had an opportunity to visit with their grandchildren in celebration of Grandparents Day. They enjoyed visiting the classrooms, completing crafts, and reading to students. They completed their visit with a tasty treat. Thank you to all the families that made this day special for students!

Students and staff at Manatee Academy hosted a Taylor’s Teddy Bear Drive. The students collected 1,733 Teddy Bears that were dispersed to our local agencies: St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department, St. Lucie County Fire District, Port St. Lucie Police Department, and Fort Pierce Police Department. Taylor’s Teddy Bear, Inc. is a non-profit organization started by Taylor’s mother, Megan Bishop. Taylor was a 4-year-old boy who passed away two years ago near North Perry Airport during an airplane accident.
