What started out as a simple assignment in Ms. Collins’ reading class became so much more. “Write me a letter and don’t forget to sign it”, instructed Ms. Collins. As Cobra Nation has a new normal of teachers greeting students entering classrooms, the new Cobra Way has always been Ms. Collins’ way, greeting her students by her door each day, every period. Ms. Collins’ students know that when they see her smiling at the classroom door, they feel seen, wanted, and ready to learn. As this student shares in her letter, a smile brings more than the completion of an assignment, it brought the students of Cobra Nation to a place of learning where they truly feel welcomed in genuine ways.
