Fort Pierce Central High School celebrated the accomplishments of its Cambridge AICE students during the 2026 AICE Awards Ceremony held on September 24. The event brought together students, families, faculty, and school leaders to recognize academic achievement and dedication within one of the school’s most rigorous programs. The ceremony was led by AICE Coordinator Mrs. Kelly Wiggett and featured remarks from Principal Mr. Eldrique Gardner, who recognized the commitment and perseverance demonstrated by AICE scholars throughout the year. Student Melanie Gomez also shared her personal experiences in the program, reflecting on both the challenges and rewards of pursuing advanced coursework.
This year, Fort Pierce Central students earned a total of 60 AICE Diplomas. Thirteen diplomas were awarded to members of the Class of 2026, while 47 were earned by current students. Among those recipients, 32 students achieved a Diploma with Pass, 14 earned a Diploma with Merit, and Daniella Sanjuan was awarded the school’s only Diploma with Distinction. Sanjuan also received an Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award and placed among the top performers in both Global Perspectives and Marine Science. Additional Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards were presented to Amy Alfonso, Loralai Ball, Alexander Cameron, Shirley Espinosa Guzman, Le-Joelle Lawrence, Nicole Lin, Tyler Lorenzo, Aidan Randolph, and Jesus Rivera Nieves.
Students were recognized for exceptional performance across 15 AICE subject areas, including English Language, Psychology, Marine Science, Global Perspectives, Spanish Language, History, Art & Design, and Travel & Tourism. The evening also highlighted the success of AICE instructors, with Mr. Cliff Weixler receiving special recognition for achieving the school’s highest pass rate in Global Perspectives. The accomplishments recognized during the ceremony reflect the continued strength of Fort Pierce Central’s Cambridge AICE program and the high standards its students strive to achieve each year.
