Southport Middle School welcomed parents and families to its Title I & Acceleration Night, an evening focused on helping families support their students’ success. The night began with an overview of the Title I program. Families learned what the program provides and how Title I funds are used to support students, classrooms, and family engagement at SPMS. Parents then split into smaller groups to learn about the math acceleration options SPMS offers, including how students can earn high school credit while still in middle school. Families saw how these courses expose students to rigorous curriculum, build critical thinking skills, and prepare them for success in high school and beyond. Our PTO was also on hand selling snacks and encouraging new families to join and get involved in our school community.
