At Forest Grove Middle School, Fridays are a special time for our school community to come together through reading. During homeroom, students and staff participate in DEAR Fridays, which stands for “Drop Everything and Read.” Across our campus, classrooms are filled with students, teachers, and staff members enjoying their favorite books and becoming immersed in the joy of reading.
DEAR Fridays are more than just a dedicated reading time. They reflect our commitment to fostering a culture of literacy and lifelong learning. By setting aside time each week to read, we demonstrate the importance of reading as a foundational skill that supports success in every subject area. This initiative also allows our school community to model positive reading habits and encourage one another in our learning journeys. At Forest Grove, we believe that strong readers become strong learners, and DEAR Fridays help strengthen that foundation for all Bulldogs.
