Bayshore Elementary recently held its very first Pokémon Club meeting, and it was an exciting success! After attending the American Library Association Conference this summer, our Media Specialist, Ms. Gray, discovered how Pokémon-themed activities can be used to encourage literacy and engage young readers in meaningful ways. Through Pokémon cards, gameplay, and related reading opportunities, students are building connections between their interests and a love for books. The club’s goal is to foster reading motivation, strengthen literacy skills, and create a fun, inclusive environment where students can learn and connect with their peers. A special thank you goes to Bayshore Legend Mr. Gittin for his support and assistance in helping launch this exciting new opportunity for our students. We can’t wait to see our Pokémon Club continue to grow and inspire readers!
