The Aerospace Technology Club at Fort Pierce Central High School has reached an exciting milestone with the successful launch of their very first rocket. Known proudly as the FPC Aeronauts, this dedicated group of students has spent the past two years designing, building, and testing their radar rocket, demonstrating perseverance, teamwork, and a strong commitment to innovation.

The journey to this achievement was not without challenges. Over the past several months, students conducted multiple test launches that were unsuccessful due to factors such as unfavorable weather conditions and technical difficulties. Despite these setbacks, the team remained focused and continued to refine their design, ultimately leading to a successful launch experience.

The rocket, equipped with an active camera at the top, was designed to capture footage during flight, while a drone provided additional aerial images of the launch. With a projected altitude of 700 feet, the launch showcased the students’ growing expertise in aerospace technology and engineering concepts.
Participation in the Aeronautics Club also introduces students to future career pathways, including roles such as astronauts, aeronautical engineers, and pilots. Their accomplishment highlights the impact of hands-on learning and reinforces the importance of persistence in achieving long-term goals.
