Thirteen St. Lucie Public Schools students proudly represented our district at Florida History Day in Tallahassee, competing alongside students from across the state in an academically rigorous showcase of historical thinking. This year’s event featured 836 student projects across five categories: Exhibit, Documentary, Website, Performance, and Historical Paper.
This year’s National History Day theme, Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History, challenged students to explore moments of transformation and response across time. One standout achievement came from Palm Pointe K-8, where the Junior Group Performance entry titled Council Elders earned two recognitions. The project received both the Outstanding County Award for St. Lucie and the Colonial America Heritage Award, highlighting the students’ depth of research, collaboration, and creativity.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by all participating students. Their success reflects not only their commitment but also the invaluable support of classroom teachers, school-based History Day coordinators, and school administrators who guided and encouraged them throughout the process.
As we celebrate this year’s accomplishments, we are already looking ahead to next year’s National History Day theme, Innovation in History: Impact, Influence, Change, which will invite students to examine how new ideas and approaches shape societies past and present.
Congratulations to our students and staff for representing St. Lucie Public Schools with excellence on the statewide stage.
