Fairlawn Elementary Kindergarten Welcomes a Special 4-H Visit

Kindergarten students at Fairlawn Elementary recently enjoyed a very special visit from our local 4-H club! The excitement filled the room as Ms. Candy introduced two adorable animal friends — Mario the guinea pig and Bowser the bunny. There were lots of smiles, giggles, and wide eyes as students had the chance to see the animals up close and learn all about them.

During the visit, students learned important lessons about pet care and responsibility. Ms. Candy explained what guinea pigs and bunnies need to stay healthy and happy, including proper food, clean habitats, fresh water, and gentle handling. Kindergarteners discovered that owning a pet is not just about cuddles and fun — it also requires daily care, patience, and kindness.

The hands-on experience helped bring learning to life in such a meaningful way. Students asked thoughtful questions and showed great curiosity about how to take care of animals. We are so thankful to our local 4-H and Ms. Candy for sharing their time and teaching our young learners about responsibility, compassion, and caring for pets. It was a wonderful day at Fairlawn!
