Each year, the Governor and First Lady of Florida invite students in grades K–12 to participate in statewide art and essay contests in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, observed in September and October.
In addition, students, parents, teachers, and school leaders are encouraged to nominate outstanding educators for the Excellence in Education Award.
