The Orlando Science Center visited for an in-school field trip at Lawnwood Elementary School. 5th-grade students were able to participate in various science labs to deepen their understanding and skills. These hands-on experiences provided students with several real-world examples as connections were made. One example of this was the rollercoaster lab. In the rollercoaster lab, students discussed kinetic and potential energy, friction, and gravity as they considered how rollercoasters move. This was a very engaging STEM experience, and students enjoyed this opportunity. Way to go, Lawnwood Leopards! We can’t wait to schedule future visits, as this was a student favorite.
