Bayshore Elementary’s first grade has embarked on an exciting new unit about 2 and 3-dimensional shapes! To introduce this fascinating topic, Mrs. Jones’ class spent time engaging in a hands-on activity with playdough. The students built various shapes, learning to identify them by their names and counting how many sides each shape has. This creative exercise not only helped the students grasp the basic properties of shapes but also allowed them to explore and experiment with their own creations. The playdough session was a fantastic way to make geometry fun and accessible for young learners. We are thrilled to see the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity as they continue to discover more about shapes in the coming weeks.
