On January 30, 2025, Sheriff Richard Del Toro and members of the Sheriff’s Office had the honor of participating in Literacy Week at Village Green Environmental Studies with Mrs. Fraser-Wittingham’s 3rd class. That day, the Sheriff made a special promise to the class—a challenge: if they could finish the book within a month, he would return to throw them a pizza party.
Fast forward to this week, and we’re thrilled to share that the class rose to the challenge! Mrs. Fraser-Wittingham confirmed that the students not only completed the book, but each one talked about their favorite part, and they even went above and beyond by completing a summary report and presentation!
So, the pizza party was officially on, and it was an absolute blast! We couldn’t be more proud of these students for their dedication. Here’s to many more reading adventures. Thank you Sherrif Del Toro for being an advocate for the love of reading and showing our students what determination and hard work get you!
