Village Green’s Fifth-Grade Scientists

Dr. Jacqueline Venzen and Dr. Thomas Gay facilitated another learning lab for fifth-grade students at Village Green Environmental Studies School.   Students have been learning about physical properties, mixtures, solutions, substances, magnetism, and other matter-related science topics. In an effort to support and enhance their learning journey, students were engaged in several hands-on investigation activities which included making slime, experiencing physical and chemical changes, making lemonade to see how sugar and lemon (solutes) dissolve into water (solvent), and how iron filings are attracted to magnets while other materials are not.  Our Principal, Ayesha Boria, was also an active participant and enjoyed this learning activity.
