SLWCHS Culinary Art Students Rank Highest in St. Lucie County and 3rd Overall in the State

This weekend at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida our Culinary arts students had the opportunity to compete at the 23rd annual Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, Educational Foundation, state high school competition.
Centennial walked away with all of our students winning an award, a placement medal, and multiple scholarships to pursue their hospitality industry careers.
Abigail Roth placed fifth in the state with one of the fastest times, ending with a stunning fruit carving representing her talent.
Alannah Gomez, Merlyn Lamb, and Jonathan Satey won best uniform in the waiters’ relay competition.
Precision and speed were needed to accomplish their tasks at hand.
Isaac Vasconcelos, Nathan Korb, and Kaitlyn Owens won second in the state for culinary arts with only a three-person team crushing the larger teams and winning the highest-ranking culinary award in St. Lucie West Centennial history.
Centennial won an overall ranking of third place in the state as a premier ProStart school, and the highest-ranking school in St. Lucie County.
Hard work and dedication will always pay off! Amazing job, Alannah, Merlyn, Jonathan, Abby, Isaac, Nate, and Kait.
