The Lincoln Park Academy Theatre Department Presented The Addams Family Musical in mid-March. Determined to create during a time of disconnect, the LPA Theatre Department worked hard to find ways to create theatre in an inventive and safe way. Students were so respectful during the process and were able to create brilliant theatre during a pandemic. This show follows Wednesday Addams, who has grown up and found love. The audience watched as the two families meet for the first time and overcome differences in the name of love.
Despite the smaller cast, the stage felt full and brimming with creative energy and a love for theatre. Seating was limited due to Covid restrictions, but every show was sold out. The support from the community was huge. Parents left in tears, overwhelmed with how good it was to see their kids performing again.
No matter the circumstances, we will always find ways to create. The talent on that stage was palpable and the students were full of pride for what they’ve created.
