Black History Month Celebration

Dr. McEwen and Mrs. Barr organized a celebration of Black History Month with an assembly for students and staff at the Education Center of St. Lucie County’s Juvenile Detention Center. The assembly followed the national theme for Black History Month, Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memory. In attendance were 38 students, all teaching staff and DJJ staff members. Dr. McEwen presented the assembly, six students recited poetry, Mrs. Barr reviewed and explained the theme, Mr. Hinder shared moments in Black History, and Mr. Small presented the historical sites of Ft. Pierce.
