Clerk of Courts Career Exploration Day

Students from the Criminal Justice programs at Fort Pierce Central High School (teacher: Mr. Neal Wilder), Fort Pierce Westwood Academy (teacher: Ms. Mildred Brown), St. Lucie West Centennial High School (teacher: Mrs. Angela Baumgarten), and Treasure Coast High School (teachers: Mrs. Nerieda Cintron-McCray and Mr. Diego Rios) participated in a Clerk of Courts’ Career Exploration Day. CTE Student Entrepreneurship Showcase

Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from middle and high schools across St. Lucie Public Schools participated in the CTE Student Showcase. The Showcase was all about entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial mindset, and the resilience needed to be an entrepreneur.  The CTE classroom is a perfect place for teaching these skills since CTE teachers already cover many lessons and projects in entrepreneurship. Biotechnology Virtual Lab with Keiser University

The Industrial Biotechnology program (Mr. John Williams’ students) at Treasure Coast High School (TCHS) collaborated with Keiser University’s Biotechnology department.  This virtual lab session was led by Dr. Weir of Keiser University to provide a simulated lab experience for the TCHS students preparing for their Biotechnician Assistant industry certification exam.

Treasure Coast High Manufacturing/Engineering Program hosts Virtual Field Trip

Phil Depuy, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Instructor at Treasure Coast High hosted a virtual Field Trip informing students about the Pre-apprenticeship and local Apprenticeship opportunities.  Dawn Riccardi and Marcelo Dossantos from CareerSource-Research Coast presented to the high school Manufacturing/Engineering students.  Local manufacturer Jim Brann of The Porch Factory and apprentice Bobby also presented to the students! Level up CTE!                                      

Criminal Justice Students Participate in Federal Court’s Teen Discourse Session

Treasure Coast High School’s Criminal Justice students from Mr. Diego Rios’ class participated in a Teen Discourse Session with Federal Judges and Attorneys.  This is a yearly event that transitioned to a virtual session this school year.  A special thank you to the following individuals making this event possible: Federal Magistrates Maynard and Brennan, U.S. Attorney Brandy Galler, and Attorney Andrew Lowenstein.

Criminal Justice Student’s Career Exploration with St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office

Criminal Justice Academy students from Treasure Coast High School (Mr. Rios’ class) and Fort Pierce Central (Mr. Wilder’s class) participated in a career exploration session with representatives from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.  Fort Pierce Central students were able to participate virtually from their campus.  Guest speakers included Crime Scene Investigation (Bridget Blatchford), K9 (Deputy Hill), and Sherriff’s Explorer Units (Deputy Raynolds, Deputy Gomez).
