Students Turnout for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase

Students from middle and high schools across St. Lucie County competed in the CTE Showcase. The student projects were focused on entrepreneurship categories which included 3D printed and Welded Fair, Ecommerce Products & Services, New Food Truck Concept, and the middle school entrepreneurship project. The students were dressed to impress, meticulously prepared their presentation boards, and wowed the judges. CTE Student Entrepreneurship Showcase

Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from middle and high schools across St. Lucie Public Schools participated in the CTE Student Showcase. The Showcase was all about entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial mindset, and the resilience needed to be an entrepreneur.  The CTE classroom is a perfect place for teaching these skills since CTE teachers already cover many lessons and projects in entrepreneurship. Oak Hammock K8 holds spelling bee

The 2014 Oak Hammock Spelling Bee was held recently, with 18 students representing grades 4 through 8 participating. Congratulations to all contestants! Oak Hammock students fall into books at literacy event

What better way to celebrate autumn than by “falling” into great books? Oak Hammock hosted a literacy night recently for students and families filled with ELA-related events. Students participated in a book swap, shopped at the book fair, made book marks, wrote silly stories and spooky poems, participated in book-related activities, and read their new books in the reading graveyard. Local author Stephanie Sisler read her books aloud to captive audiences, and Alicia Bell from the St. Lucie Public Library System helped families sign up for library cards. Oak Hammock students celebrate special week

Oak Hammock students recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week with support from the local Elks Lodge and Kids at Hope. The theme for the week was “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.” Students took part in a door decorating contest, participated in presentations from the local Elks Lodge, and wore red each day in creative ways to represent their commitment to a drug-free life.
