Diamond Litty, from the Public Defender’s Office, recently visited St. Lucie West Centennial High School to speak with students in Ms. Baumgarten’s Legal Certified Assistant class. Their research examined gender differences in costume choices, the historical evolution of Halloween celebrations, and how societal growth has shaped the holiday. Chelsy Marie Alvaredo knows water conservation. The St. Lucie West Centennial High School 9th grader won the 2026 Drop Savers Poster Contest, hosted by St. Lucie County, in conjunction with the Florida Section American Water Works Association (FSAWWA). The annual contest encourages students in all grade levels to draw a poster with a water conservation message. Over 175 entries were received from students in 9 schools, and a winner was selected from each grade level.
