Bayshore Elementary students and staff support worthy community cause

Bayshore Elementary is very excited to support the community by participating in the March for Babies event this year at the Port St Lucie campus of Florida Atlantic University.  The money raised will support March of Dimes research and programs that help mothers have full-term pregnancies so babies can have healthy lives.  Bayshore Elementary staff members and students recently held a car wash and raised over $230 for this important cause.  Pictured is kindergarten student Zachary Comperchio doing his part to help!

Bayshore Elementary students and families enjoy feast

Bayshore Elementary School’s kindergarten students and their families participated in a Thanksgiving feast recently. Students compared children of today with children in the past while learning about their culture. They also learned the importance of national holidays, such as Thanksgiving,  as a way of recognizing our nation’s heritage. Winn Dixie sponsored the event and helped serve students and families. Bayshore Elementary student council sponsors food drive

Bayshore Elementary School student council members sponsored a food drive to collect non-perishable food for those in need. Students organized the food so it could be dispersed to families in the community. Bayshore Elementary School students and staff members were proud to participate in a recent Stand Up To Bullying day. Bayshore Elementary Spirit Week Highlights

Bayshore Elementary had an unforgettable Spirit Week filled with creativity, color, and fun! Each day celebrated a different theme, and students showed up dressed to impress. Monday kicked off with groovy styles from the 1960s and 1970s. On Tuesday, neon and bold patterns lit up the halls for 1980s Day. Wednesday brought back the trends of the 1990s and early 2000s. Thursday was “Color Your World,” where each grade level represented a different color, creating a vibrant rainbow across campus. Bayshore Elementary School is proud to announce its school spelling bee winners for the 2011 – 2012 school year.  The first place winner was Skylar Collins, left, from Leigh Grippe’s third grade class, second place winner was Brianna Creary, center,  from Jennifer Glidden’s third grade class, and the third place winner was Aisha  Jean Baptiste, right,  from Joanne Smith’s third grade class.

Bayshore Elementary Shines at Odyssey of the Mind

Bayshore Elementary recently showcased their incredible talent and teamwork at the Odyssey of the Mind competition! Our team worked together seamlessly, delivering a performance filled with creativity and humor that captivated the audience. Their hard work and dedication truly shone through, making us all proud. We are especially proud to announce that our team scored very high in our division for the spontaneous portion of the competition, demonstrating their quick thinking and problem-solving skills. Bayshore Elementary Shines at Morningside Library Night

Bayshore Elementary partnered with the Morningside Library for a wonderful Library Night that brought our school community together for an evening of learning, creativity, and fun. Families enjoyed hands-on craft stations where students designed their own photo frames and colorful bookmarks. Many students were excited to sign up for new library cards and explore the wide range of resources offered through the St. Lucie County Library system. Bayshore Elementary second grade students learn about energy

Bayshore Elementary second grade students honor presidents

Bayshore Elementary School students participate in readers program

Bayshore Elementary School students in third, fourth and fifth grade are participating in the Sunshine State Young Readers Awards Program.  This is a statewide program that is designed to motivate students to read high interest, contemporary literature.  Pictured is Cassandra Fess’ third grade student Sergio Miranda showing off the sunshine he earned after reading Beastologist.

Bayshore Elementary School students create poems

Students in third through fifth grade at Bayshore Elementary were given the opportunity to write poems as part of the Young Writers of America contest.  Students wrote poems about their wish for the world or what their family means to them.  Pictured are Shandy Ernest, left, and Jadyn Smith from Janet Baraniak’s third grade class who wote poems for the contest.

Bayshore Elementary School county fair display wins third place

Bayshore Elementary School’s display in the St. Lucie County Fair earned third place in the fair’s elementary division.  Bayshore Elementary students used primary sources to assist them in recreating pictures of St. Lucie County’s past and present.  Students also used their creativity to demonstrate inventions of the future.

Bayshore Elementary Recognizes Bus Drivers

Bayshore Elementary took the time to recognize their bus drivers with a special “drive-thru breakfast!” The school wanted to take a few minutes to show their appreciation for the drivers’ hard work and dedication keeping their Bayshore students safe. Way to go!  

Bayshore Elementary Receives $5,000 Donation from New Burlington Store

Bayshore receives a $5,000 donation from the new Burlington store! Burlington Stores, the national discount retailer, through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, has donated $5,000 towards school supplies to Bayshore Elementary in celebration of its new store now open in Tradition. A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted the district Communications Office who helped to secure the donation for Bayshore Elementary which will provide $142 in new supplies for each teacher’s classroom. Bayshore Elementary was excited to spotlight the classes with the highest attendance for Quarter 1! To celebrate their commitment to showing up and learning every day, students from each winning class enjoyed a lively AttenDANCE party filled with music, movement, and a sweet treat. It was a joyful way to recognize the importance of consistent attendance and the positive impact it has on student success.
