Cobra Nation’s Mascot Returns

Since Fort Pierce Central’s inception in 1970, the Cobra has been synonymous with the school. The Cobra, chosen as the mascot by Central’s first class, truly represents Fort Pierce Central’s PRIDE. The school has endured plenty of changes in its history, like a variation in populace, rivaling newer schools, and even building a new campus. Many schools have holiday celebrations. What makes Fort Pierce Central unique is the heartfelt warmth through which our staff connects at special times of the year. The Annual Poinsettia Luncheon is a much-anticipated holiday tradition in Cobra Nation. Cobra Nation Went Orange for Unity Day

On Wednesday, Oct 20th, the sun rose over the east coast, illuminating Cobra Nation in a soft and bright glow. That glow was not just from the sun. The warm colors came on National Unity Day. Fort Pierce Central High School community came together, wearing orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The Gold and Purple of Cobra Nation turned Pink! On Thursday, Oct. 27th, in recognition of Breast Cancer month, FPC’s Sunshine Committee hosted a PINK OUT. All faculty, staff, & students were asked to wear pink to honor survivors & bring awareness to those battling this illness. Celebrating our academically excelling students is an honored tradition at FPC. Last week, Cobra Nation took time to recognize our outstanding Quarter 1 honor roll students with a memorable event. The celebration began with a personal touch as seventh-period teachers presented students with their well-earned honor roll certificates in their classrooms. Cobra Means Family- Spaghetti Lunch Benefit

Cobra Leadership Techniques Students Sample CTE Programs

Before winter break, Fort Pierce Central freshmen leadership techniques students benefited from in-person visits to sample CTE program offerings. CTE or Career Technical Education courses offer real-world training for students to graduate high school with needed job readiness skills, training, and certificates to enter the working world. These snapshots into Central’s Criminal Justice and Culinary Arts Programs gave students firsthand glimpses into the experience-based and skill-building rigor of these certificate-earning tracks of study. Cobra JROTC Tech Take-Over

We commonly consider JROTC as an honorable, refined service organization. Did you know they volunteer with tech!?! At Fort Pierce Central, JROTC cadets collected and turned in 38 computers for repair. This task took visiting teachers and classrooms all over campus. After repairs were completed by Mr. Albritton FPC’s I.T. consultant, 28 devices have been returned to teachers. Thanks to Retired Lieutenant Colonel Saxton for his Cobra leadership.

The countdown is over and football season is here! Gathering at the game starts at the heart of Cobra Nation. FPC Boosters give a grand send-off to our Cobra football team by sharing their game-winning enthusiasm and filling their plates with a hearty spaghetti dinner! Cobra Culinary Welcomes FPC ESE & CTE Nursing Students

On May 14, students from Fort Pierce Central High School’s ESE department visited the Culinary and Nursing Programs to learn more about how they work. Students went to the Nursing Program and learned about sanitation and how to properly don and doff gloves. Next, they went to the Culinary Program and learned to how properly set tables and provide a comfortable atmosphere. Students were treated to a delicious meal from Big Apple Pizza. Fort Pierce Central’s Culinary Arts students attended the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Show held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in Orlando, FL. All five culinary programs from the District attended the show. Students learned about new trends in food service and had the opportunity to taste foods from around the world. Students also enjoyed networking with industry leaders within the Culinary and Hospitality industries. The culinary students will embrace these experiences for a lifetime.
