On Wednesday, April 17th, the Student Government Association (SGA) transformed Fort Pierce Central’s courtyard into a Cultural Celebration! Cobra Nation embarked on an enriched journey filled with different cultures from around the World! Peru, Haiti, Panama, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, United Arab Emirates, South American countries, Asian countries, and more were represented with flags, artifacts, props, food, and music. Students sampled offerings from table to table and culture to culture using a passport sheet. Theater Students Inspire Young Audiences Through Performance and Pen Pal Partnership! FPC’s Theatre Department brought the magic of Disney to life in a special performance for 300 young students from Lakewood Park Elementary School. The event marked the culmination of a unique quarter-long partnership, where our theater students embodied beloved Disney characters through a heartwarming pen pal exchange with kindergarten through second-grade classes. On Thursday, February 20th, Cobra Nation swelled with pride as we greeted our rising 9th graders and class of 2029! Our campus came alive with the energy and excitement of our annual Rising Freshmen Open House, welcoming over 700 incoming freshman families into our vibrant Cobra community. On Friday Cobra Nation’s courtyard was filled with the spectacular sound from our talented band students. Under the masterful direction of Mr. Gabin, the band delivered a show-stopping medley of songs that had both lunch periods savoring every moment. Students couldn’t resist recording the rhythm, spontaneously dancing, and tapping their toes to the dynamic performance. FPC’s Makaria Sandlin Wins at the State Debate Championship

Makaria Sandlin brought home the 2nd place trophy in Saturday’s Florida Civics and Debate Initiative State Championship in Original Oratory. More than 50 middle and high schools competed in Orlando for this year’s State competition. With Cobra pride, the Fort Pierce Central family joins the Speech and Debate Sponsor, Mrs. Lisa Embry, in congratulating Makaria!

FPC’s K. Pearson Foundation Splashes with the Manatee Center

As the slight breeze came across the docks near the Manatee Center, volunteers set up on the evening of May 9th for the first-annual Kimberly Pearson Memorial Foundation “Friend-Raiser” in Fort Pierce. National Honor Society and Key Club members from Fort Pierce Central High School covered tables with purple and gold table cloths, carefully unpacked the sale items, and curated tables with paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and crocheted artworks. FPC’s JROTC Claims Victory

Fort Pierce Central High School’s JROTC team emerged victorious at the annual “Do You Give a Ruck” Raiders Freedom Festival Cadet Competition in Port St. Lucie! Cobra Nation is thrilled to announce that our cadets earned first place in this challenging event, testing endurance, strength, and teamwork. Participants tackled a demanding course, including a 3-mile run/walk followed by a series of physical challenges: pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups. Congratulations and Go Cobras!  

FPC’s Jazz Band Earned Straight Superiors

Fort Pierce Central’s Cobra Jazz Band participated in the State Jazz Music Performance Assessment in DeLand. The Jazz Band received straight “superior” ratings! This is the highest possible rating a jazz band can receive within the state of Florida. This honor was especially significant as it was the first time Fort Pierce Central’s jazz program has earned a state superior rating in over 25 years! Cobra Nation is overjoyed with pride for all our performers and Mr. Daniels for their hard work, musicianship, and success!! Go Cobras!

FPC’s FAFSA Night Part 2!

FPC’s Ms. Alanis, Ms. Mazzo, and Senior Class Assistant Principal Mrs. Armada hosted FAFSA night Part 2 on February 1st. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid Part 2 at FPC was a success! IRSC’s Financial Aid counselors joined Cobra counselors to workshop with two rooms of Cobra families navigating the online financial aid application process. Additional workshops around St. Lucie County are available to further support and assist parents and families.

FPC’s FAFSA Night- Part 1!

Applying for college can be a tricky and time-consuming process. Navigating unfamiliar websites alone can be intimidating. Mix in college entrance pressures, financial documentation, and pulling together all the pieces to plan your next four years is a heavy lift. Considering all these reasons and more is why Cobra Nation divides FAFSA night into two parts! FAFSA or Federal Assistance through the Federal Student Aid Program is a complex network of supplying paperwork and time-sensitive applications. Fort Pierce Central works with students and their families to inform, navigate, register, and complete the FAFSA application process.

FPC’s Culinary Academy Cooks Up Experience

Fort Pierce Central’s Culinary Academy and administration feed the football team! Not only do culinary students gain hospitality experience and volunteer hours while supporting our football team but they were also visited by Brandon Parks, FPC Culinary Academy graduate (farthest left in picture). Brandon is currently attending Valencia College in Orlando and just landed a job with Disney’s Animal Kingdom restaurant as a 2nd line cook! Disney hired him based on his work experiences in the Cobra Cafe and the St. Lucie CookOff (winning team member) as he never worked in the restaurant industry. Congratulations, Brandon Parks! FPC’s Beach Clean Up Blast

Not all teenagers would be willing to wake up early on a Saturday morning, let alone volunteer their time to clean up a beach rather than enjoy the sun and sand. The teens of Fort Pierce Central High School’s National Honor Society, Gardening Club, and Key Club were joined by St. Lucie West Centennial’s Youth Advisory Council members for the 5th Annual Kimberly Pearson Memorial Beach Clean-Up. The event was held at Pepper Park on March 2nd from 9 a.m. to noon. FPCHS Wrestling Team Clinches Regional Title

Fort Pierce Central High School’s Wrestling Team won its first Regional Wrestling Title since 1995. The 3A Region 3 Champs qualified 11 athletes for the state tournament. That is the most qualifiers in school’s 49-year history, and it ties for the most in St. Lucie County History.  Coach Seidel said, “It’s well deserved for the athletes that put their blood, sweat, and tears into it.  I am so proud of what they have accomplished so far.”  The Cobras will travel to the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, FL on Friday and Saturday for the state tournament. This exhibit showcases the work of the Creative Photography students from Fort Pierce Central High School. The school added photography courses four years ago, and in that time Heather Blackmon-Gordon’s students have grown in both skill and scope. With photography as their commonality, they search for their own creative style and vision. The students have spent the last few months documenting, critiquing and reflecting on physical and mental places in their lives. Fort Pierce Central High School students use drone technology to keep fellow students safe. Students in Fort Pierce Central High School’s Embry Riddle Aeronautical University program are working in collaboration with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
