Kindergarten students from Palm Pointe Educational Research @ Tradition play on the drums that they made at a recent pow wow.  Students all dressed as Indians and did several activities outside along with playing the drums. This was an awesome learning experience and that students had a great time performing for their families and friends.

Palm Pointe Kindergartners Experience Pirate STEM Learning

Palm Pointe Kindergarten students had an exciting in-house field trip thanks to The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast’s Pirate STEM program. This event immersed them in the world of pirates and treasure, blending history, creativity, and a touch of science. The adventure began with a deep dive into the history of the Treasure Coast, where students learned about its rich pirate connections and legendary lost treasures. Students worked in teams to create pirate ships and treasure maps. They then tested whether their ships would sink or float, combining creativity with scientific exploration. Kindergarten students in Raynell Mowitt’s class at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoy a Mother’s Day Tea with their moms. Each student videotaped a special message to their mom on why they are so special to them. Everyone enjoyed refreshments and spending time together.

Palm Pointe kindergartners enjoy annual character parade

The kindergarten students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently enjoyed their annual Storybook Character Parade. The students selected a book to read and dressed up as the book’s main character. Students and teachers paraded through the halls around the school so that students in other grades could see them. Parents were invited to come and see the parade too. After the parade, parents went to their child’s classroom to enjoy activities and refreshments.  Pictured are students in Patricia Ifill-Bowen’s class.

Palm Pointe kindergartners and families enjoy Thanksgiving feast

Kindergarten students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast prepared with all the fixings by the cafeteria staff.  The food was delicious and the students and guests had a great time.  Pictured, from left, are kindergartner Maya Wright, her Mom and her younger student as they enjoy their feast!

Palm Pointe Kindergarteners Receive the Gift of Reading

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union came to see Palm Pointe Kindergarteners last week. Through MIDFLORIDA’s Gift of Reading program, the Kindergarten students were gifted a copy of the book “What If, Pig?” and listened to the story read by a special guest reader. Thank you MIDFLORIDA for helping to develop our love of reading!

Palm Pointe Kindergarteners Partner with Firefighters

Palm Pointe Kindergarteners spent a few weeks learning about fire safety. As a part of their lesson, they created “thank you” cards for local firefighters. The cards were sent to a local station who shared them with the crew. The students were SO EXCITED when they received a picture BACK from the firefighters! It was so rewarding to see that their hard work makes a difference to others!

Palm Pointe Kindergarteners Experience Fresh Market

Palm Pointe Kindergarten students were thrilled to take a field trip to The Fresh Market in Tradition.  Students, chaperones, and teachers walked safely down the street to get a hands-on experience following one of our Play With Purpose themes.    Our students loved touring the grocery store, sampling snacks,  and learning about what it takes to maintain a business that provides for the community.  This real world experience was enjoyed by all.  The Market staff was so inviting, and the students were attentive and engaged.  We want to thank the store manager, Michael Gillespie, for helping make this field trip … Read More

Palm Pointe Kindergartener’s EGGcelent 4-H Experience

The 4H farm gave an EGGcelent presentation to our Palm Pointe kindergarteners! Kindergarten will be hatching live chicks over the next 21 days. Students will learn about the chick’s life cycle and what living things need. We are so excited for this awesome experience! Thank you 4H Farm!

Palm Pointe Kindergarten Students Learn About Fire Safety

Palm Pointe Kindergarten students enjoyed an exciting learning opportunity this week when St. Lucie County Firefighters came to their school to teach them about fire safety. October is fire safety month, and to celebrate this initiative, students had an opportunity to interact with our local firefighter heroes.  Students learned what to do in the event of a fire, how to safely exit their home, how and when to call 911, and the importance of coming up with a family plan during a fire emergency.  They were able to explore the firetruck and tools used by the firemen. Palm Pointe Kindergarten Celebrates Harvest Festival and Friendship Feast

All year long, Kindergarten Rockets have been tending their garden of fresh herbs, vegetables, and greens.  Students were excited to harvest some of their produce to create fresh, homemade salsa using cilantro and green peppers from the gardens.  To quench their thirst, they also made a lemonade that they incorporated fresh mint into. Students, parents, and family members all came to see the bounty they prepared and to check out their gardens.  Everyone joined together at a Friendship Feast where our Rockets serenaded their families with songs of thanks and friendship. Palm Pointe kindergartners celebrate special wedding

Kindergarten students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition celebrated the wedding of letters Q and U. The students learned that Q and U are always together so they had a mock wedding to re-enforce this fact. Students all had a part in the celebration as a member of the wedding party or as helpers with the reception after the ceremony. This was a fun learning experience and one they will always remember. Pictured are Trotter Chaisson, left, as the groom and Madison Parrish as the bride. 

Palm Pointe K‑8 Scores Big in the Souper Bowl Challenge

Palm Pointe K‑8 has once again shown what it means to serve the community with heart, teamwork, and a little friendly competition. This year, students and staff participated in the school’s Souper Bowl Challenge, an initiative designed to “tackle hunger” by collecting non‑perishable food items for local families in need. From January 26 through February 6, classrooms across the school rallied together, predicting who would win the Super Bowl while filling collection bins with canned goods, pantry staples, and shelf‑stable items. Our Palm Pointe middle school OM team blasted off to an unforgettable adventure at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University. We are beyond proud to announce that our team placed 19th in the WORLD with a structure that held an outstanding 470 pounds! Brew Crew: Empowering Students Through Purpose Palm Pointe K‑8 is proud to introduce its new Brew Crew Coffee Program, a campus-wide initiative designed to provide select students with meaningful, real-world learning experiences that build confidence, communication, and independence. The Brew Crew Coffee Program offers selected students the opportunity to participate in a fully supported “work” environment, preparing and delivering iced coffee orders to staff across campus. Palm Pointe K–8 proudly hosted its annual Action Research Summit, a district tradition that highlights innovation, reflection, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
