Palm Pointe Project Citizen Entry Advances to National Finals

The Project Citizen Entry from Palm Pointe Educational Research School in Tradition will advance to the national finals of the Project Citizen showcase. Due to the pandemic and related school closures, students submitted digital entries describing their selected problem and public policy solutions. Students also recorded presentations sharing details of their project-based learning model. The Justice Teaching Center at Florida Southern College sponsors the state-level Project Citizen showcase. Palm Pointe Principals get “Pied”

Palm Pointe students who won the March Attendance Challenges got to pie Palm Pointe’s administration team! During the month of March, homerooms in grades K-8 with the highest attendance average and homerooms in grades K-8 with the highest attendance on the early release day in March, proudly earned their spot to pie Mrs. Perez, Mr. Keelor, Ms. Markowitz, and Mrs. Newsome. Students were so excited for this opportunity! The Administrators were pied by over 300 students!    

Palm Pointe Presents: A Magical Journey to Oz

Lights…Sound…Action!  Last week, our school community was transported “somewhere over the rainbow” during the spectacular performance of The Wizard of Oz. From the moment the curtains opened, the audience was captivated by the incredible talent and hard work of our students and staff. Palm Pointe Positivity: Crafting a Strong Start

Students in Ms. Taylor’s reading class kicked off the school year by crafting motivational bracelets that reflect their personal goals and aspirations for character-building.  This creative activity not only encourages self-reflection but also fosters a strong sense of classroom community. Palm Pointe K8 has placed 1st in the Florida Breakfast Challenge! Their efforts to increase school breakfast participation was successful and ensures students have access to the nutrition needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Palm Pointe Peticaid Program for Project Citizen receives a grant

Palm Pointe graduates reconnect with Hillary Cruz, 7th grade Civics teacher at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition, and Janet Winikoff, representing the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, regarding the students’ 2011/12 Project Citizen idea for a pet food stamps program. The students targeted low-income pet owners as the problem to focus on for their class project two years ago; claiming one of the most cited reasons for surrendering pets was due to the owners’ inability to financially care for them. Palm Pointe pays tribute to 09/11/01

On Thursday, September 11, 2014, sixth grade students at Palm Pointe Elementary Research School at Tradition participated in a special lesson about using oral histories to present multiple perspectives of an historical event. World History teachers, Mrs. Melanie Larsen and Mr. Dennis Keane (former NYFD fireman), and St. Lucie County fireman Ray Reiprecht shared their personal accounts of September 11, 2001. Palm Pointe Patriots Win Congressional Art Contest

Congratulations to artists Amelia Sides and Paige Kelly from Palm Pointe Educational Research School for winning the Congressional Youth Art Contest for St. Lucie County. Artists had to depict what the word patriotism means to them. Amelia won first place in the competition for her watercolor artwork of the American flag and bald eagle. Paige was runner-up with her watercolor American flag. Amelia’s artwork will be displayed in Congressman Brian Mast’s Washington DC office.

Palm Pointe participates in Martin Luther King Jr. parade

Palm Pointe participates in Light It Up Blue for autism awareness

Palm Pointe participated in Circle of Hope

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. On September 17, Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition participated in Circle of Hope, which is a district-wide project for creating cancer awareness, raising money for research and honoring those who have gone on a cancer journey. Palm Pointe Participated in Star Wars Concert

On Saturday, December 5, the Jazz Band under the direction of  Band Director Jason Hatfield from Palm Pointe Educational Research Center @ Tradition participated in All County Music’s Star Wars Day celebration in Tamarac, Florida.  Students dressed in Star Wars shirts and played themed music in a benefit concert for children in need. Palm Pointe P.B.I.S. Lunch Incentive

Palm Pointe had their first Sit With A Friend day! Students who paid 10 Rocket Fuel were able to sit with friends from other classes during lunch time as a part of their P.B.I.S program.

Palm Pointe Oratorical Contest Winners

Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest that was a district event.  The theme this year was “Dream Forward: Choose Peace, Equality, and Change.  Students wrote their essays about this theme and recited their speeches before a panel of judges.  The school would like to congratulate eighth grade student Sarah Wouters for winning first place, sixth grader Kiahra Wood for placing third, and fourth grader Alexia Morgan for placing third.  Pictured from left is Sarah Wouters, Kiahra Wood and Alexia Morgan.  Great job Rockets!

Palm Pointe “Opens the Magic” with Literacy

Palm Pointe K-8 celebrated National Open the Magic Day with some truly magical guest readers!  Ms. Markowitz began the day with a read-aloud to all of our students on the morning news.  Then, our school was honored to welcome community leaders, district leadership, and school leadership who joined us to share the joy and magic of reading with our students.  Thank you to our amazing visitors for taking the time to inspire our young readers. Palm Pointe NJHS sponsors food drive

The Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently conducted its annual food drive. This is the fifth year that the food drive has been held in October. The club collected 16 boxes full of food for the local food bank, Harvest Outreach, in St. Lucie County. The food collected will help support many families that don’t have food for the fall holidays. This is a very worthwhile cause.  Pictured are NJHS members gathering the boxes.

Palm Pointe NJHS Peanut Butter Drive

Palm Pointe NJHS members helped to collect jars of peanut butter for the Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club. These donated jars of peanut butter are placed in Grace Packs with additional nonperishable food items and distributed to local food-insecure children at the end of each school week. The Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary partners with Grace Packs, Inc. who currently have 790 students on the roster receiving these Grace Packs.

Palm Pointe Night at the Met’s Stadium a Real “Hit”

Palm Pointe students got to enjoy a Family Baseball Night at Clover Park! Students watched the baseball game, Assistant Principal Mr.Keelor got to throw the first pitch, our middle school Vocal Vision choir sang the National Anthem, our elementary chorus sang “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch, and students had the opportunity to the run the bases after the game. It was a fun night had by all!
