At St. Lucie West Centennial High School, a group of Outboard Marine students recently earned industry certifications in engines, electronics, and electronic systems. These certifications mark a significant achievement, officially recognizing the students as certified technicians ready to enter the workforce. Students in Mr. Swalwell’s World History class are currently preparing for their first vocabulary test, which focuses on key terms related to the Byzantine Empire and Arab Civilizations. To help reinforce their understanding, students worked collaboratively in small groups, actively matching vocabulary words with their correct definitions. SLW Centennial High School students have been making a significant impact in their community by assembling food packs for their hungry peers through Grace Packs Inc. This initiative has seen remarkable growth over the seasons, with thousands of Grace Packs being put together for children across the district. The students’ journey began with assembling around one hundred Grace Packs on their first day in the pantry. Their efficiency and teamwork have since increased significantly, helping to serve the nine hundred fifty-five students who rely on these packs each weekend. SLW Centennial student, Kyana Munao, qualified and participated in the FHSAA Cross Country State Championship for the second time in her four years as an Eagle runner.  Kyana was only one of two athletes from St. Lucie County to qualify for State.  Congratulations, Kyana!  

Junior, Sloan Sizemore, won 1st Place in the Individual Performance Category at the St. Lucie Public Schools History Day Fair. Sloan will be competing next at the State History Day Fair in Tallahassee. Congratulations Sloan!      

During the Career Connect Conference, SLW Centennial High School student Janelle Palmer won a day with Kelley Higney, CEO of The Bug Bite Thing, a $40 million St. Lucie company that appeared on Shark Tank. Janelle took advantage of the opportunity over the summer and had the opportunity to spend the day learning firsthand about entrepreneurship and running a multi-million dollar business.

Jaeger Johnson (pictured in front row, 3rd from the left) will be part of the District Team that will compete at the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge State Level competition in April. Jaeger’s individual scores at the District Academic Challenge competition earned him a seat on the District’s Team.  Congratulations Jaeger!
