On Saturday, March 29th, the 6th annual Kimberly Pearson Ocean-Side Clean-Up will take place from 9-11 am beginning at the Manatee Center, 480 North Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce. This cherished community event, which focuses on protecting the area’s natural beauty, fostering environmental stewardship, and honoring the lifetime learning legacy of Fort Pierce Central High School Marine Science teacher Kimberly Pearson, is seeking volunteers from our district to come together to make a tangible difference.
Starting at the Manatee Center, volunteers will receive gloves, and trash grabbers before tackling debris along the oceanfront. The clean-up will be extended to surrounding beaches, where dedicated volunteers intend to clear litter, ensuring these beloved spaces remain pristine for wildlife and visitors alike.
The event, named in honor of Kimberly Pearson—our beloved Marine Science teacher—has become a cornerstone of local efforts to promote sustainability. Ms. Pearson’s legacy inspires us to keep pushing forward. Students can earn volunteer hours for their efforts.
To keep everyone energized, Panera Bread will graciously provide their end-of-day “dough-nations,” offering a variety of baked goods. Volunteers will have water to keep hydrated throughout the sunny morning.
